Quick start
Run Rezepte with Docker Compose and log in for the first time
Rezepte ships as a single Docker image. This page gets a household instance running in a few minutes; see Docker and Running the binary for other ways to run it, and Configuration for every setting.
Start it
Save the following as docker-compose.yaml, then run docker compose up -d. It is the repository's own file; Docker explains every part of it, including which versions exist.
services:
rezepte:
image: ghcr.io/s-frei/rezepte:latest
restart: unless-stopped
volumes:
- rezepte-data:/data
environment:
# Read on the first start, to create the instance owner, and after that
# only by --reset-superadmin-password.
REZEPTE_ADMIN_PASSWORD: change-me-now
ports:
- "8060:8060"
volumes:
rezepte-data:Open the app
Visit http://localhost:8060 in a browser.
Log in as admin with the password from REZEPTE_ADMIN_PASSWORD in the compose file above.
Create the first recipe
Click "New recipe" and save it. See Recipes for the editor.
Try it without setup
Rezepte can also start with sample data instead of a real household's recipes:
docker run --rm -p 8060:8060 ghcr.io/s-frei/rezepte:latest --demoLog in as demo with the password demo1234. Nothing is persisted without a volume, so the data disappears when the container stops.
REZEPTE_ADMIN_PASSWORD is read when the instance starts with no users yet, and after that only by --reset-superadmin-password. Change it inside the app — see First login — rather than editing the environment variable later.
